November 25 was a memorable day for
the Priory, as it began its own
Novitiate after its inauguration in
2001. Three of our postulants
entered the Novitiate in a simple
ceremony during the monastic liturgy
of the
evening prayer on this day. Fr.
Joseph Parambukattil is appointed
the first Novice Master.
The feast of our holy father St.
Sylvester, was celebrated with joy
and solemnity with three days of
spiritual preparation preceding it.
The people from around the monastery
was present for Christmas Mass, at
midnight and after the Mass, the
monks and the faithful gathered
round the crib to sing the carols in
the vernacular and other languages
as the participants hail from
different linguistic States.
Giving thanks to the Lord for His
graces on us during the year 2003,
the monks and the faithful welcomed
the new year asking Him to bless it
with happiness and peace.
Fr. Robert Nayak has
been made the secretary of the local
unit of CRI (Catholic Religious of
India).
Let us remember in our prayers
Bro. Michael, the oldest monk of our
Congregation whom the Lord called to
his eternal kingdom on 9th January
at 10.30 pm. May his soul rest in
peace.
